Best way to remove tree sap or pitch for automobile windows and paint?

warm soapy water will remove it ,but you have to let the water soak on it for a while, other wise if its been on it for a while it can bring the clear coat off with it,seen that happen a few times, tree sap is hard on a paint job, good luck on it.Best way to remove tree sap or pitch for automobile windows and paint?

Go to a body supply store and get a bottle of PREP SOL

This is what is used to remove all things from clear coat finish

Safe on the clear coat and the paint.

Wont hurt plastic or glass.
try rubbing alcohol and a q-tip or soft towel. i use to detail cars and this works like a charm. don't rub to har though cuz it could scratch the paint. good luck
Denatured alcohol is the ONLY thing I have ever found that really works on tree sap without damaging the paint or clear coat. You can buy it at the pharmacy.
I know this sounds off but try a little cooking oil on papertowel. I would test a small area on the paint first but the windows are no problem. Of course you'll need to wash then afterward but the oil is good at removing sticky stuff.
