Where do I find Microsoft Paint in Windows?

Do I have to open up a picture from ';my pictures'; first to see the options or can I open a microsoft word document and then find it? I want to scan a drawing I have done and then change the colour of the background and tidy it up...is that possible with the Paint programme? I am totally rubbish with comps so step by step instructions would be fab! Thank you!Where do I find Microsoft Paint in Windows?

As 4 help. Every piece of software has a help section, whether its online, or written in2 the programme.Where do I find Microsoft Paint in Windows?
MS Paint is not what you need for what you wish to do with a picture.

What you need is a Photo Shop software - at this next link below, you can download a FREE photoshop software program.

. . .don't worry, there's a Help with the software.
go to start %26gt; run %26gt; type in %26gt;mspaint %26gt; click enter
Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, scroll down menu and there is MS Paint. This is a ';Doodle'; program to draw your own picture and fill in colour etc. with pencil, brushes, shapes etc. If you have MS Publisher import(';Insert'; from tool bar, then ';From Computer';, find your picture and press Open, then you can make alterations to it, once in Publisher click on the picture and a box will go round it, you can resize it by dragging a corner. It's quite difficult for a beginner. You can also do this in Word with the same start off ie Insert, From Computer etc. maybe easier. There are free editing programs about, which I would expect other answerers to give you. Also you can buy one with instructions, don't know if they are available on line, and have never tried it in Paint. I have Roxio Paintshop early version, which is easiest, or Paintshop 7 but don't know if they are still available as they are old. Am now going to try Paint and will edit answer if you can do it. I'm assuming you have XP and not Vista (don't know anything about Vista unfortunately)

Edit: You can import your scanned and saved picture by File - Open, but it's not really that good. Seen other answers, so free program would be the way to go. Free MS Paint.Net being the easiest (forgot that one).
Start --%26gt; All Programs --%26gt; Accessories

Make sure your scanner settings are set to open it in paint. Sometimes you have some other crapware pre-installed on your computer that will try to open it.
Start %26gt; All Programs %26gt; Accessories %26gt; Paint.

If you right-click on the program you can select ';pin to start menu'; or click copy and then paste the shortcut onto the desktop.

A much better free program is Paint.net:

Changing background colours can be tricky - there's a lot to learn - but yes it can certainly be done.

all programs Accessories
I'd say its possible with paint, but you would be better using fireworks or photoshop, something like that. I think you might be able to download a free trial of those programs if you looks for them.

Also if you cant find it in accesories on the all programs menu, then you can also get to it by opening the folder that your picture is in, right clicking the photo you would like to edit, selectiing the ';open with'; or ';open using'; option and selecting paint

Hope ya find that helpful
see para kitty. yes in accessories
no harm in trying this %26gt;%26gt;http://photoscape.en.softonic.com/ help/ instruc. included...... good luck
